Founded in 1953, the Journal of Anthropology is a semiannual publication of the Department of Anthropology of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo. It aims at publishing national and international original articles which present research results or theoretical-methodological essays, providing readers with an up-to-date picture of analyses in Brazil and abroad. It seeks to contemplate anthropology in its different ramifications, as well as to bring to the debate certain interfaces with related disciplines. Submissions are available at any time of the year in continuous flow. Proposals for thematic dossiers are also accepted.
The Journal of Anthropology is indexed in the Index of Social Sciences / IUPERJ / RJ and Hispanic American Periodicals Index, and receives the support of CNPq and SIBI / USP. The norms for submission of articles can be checked in the Portal of Journals of USP and ScieLo.
The historical series of the Journal of Anthropology can be found on the JSTOR portal
