On Wednesday, August 26, CHAMA, in partnership with IRL Mundos em Transição (CNRS/USP), is hosting the roundtable discussion “Contamination, Colonialism, and Capitalism.”

The event will bring together Malcom Ferdinand (CNRS/Université Paris Dauphine), presenting the lecture “Undoing Colonial Dwelling to Find the Earth,” and François-Michel Le Tourneau (CNRS/IRL Mundos em Transição), who will present “Gold Mining and Mercury: Internal Perspectives and Impacts.”

Moderated by Maíra Silva (Unicamp), the roundtable will foster a dialogue among different perspectives regarding the relationships between environmental devastation, contamination, colonialism, and capitalism.
