Urban anthropology

This line of research involves the study of social groups and institutions, cultural processes and spatial dynamics in the contemporary urban context, with emphasis on territorialities, social movements and discussions on processes of urban requalification, as well as on analysis of networks of sociability, youth and leisure. Recently, the line has expanded to include the study of Amazonian cities. Research centers and groups: GEAC (City Anthropology Study Group); and LAB-NAU (Laboratory of Urban Anthropology).
